Faceman wanted to play in a child’s shoebox diorama for his show at Mutiny Information Cafe. He chose the poem Bluebird by Charles Bukowski to be the theme. The interior walls were painted to mimic a crayon drawing, while the outside was made to look like an old shoebox. Mutiny, though a hub for live music in Denver, doesn’t have much in the way of space for a set piece, so we decided to elevate the box and have it stand above the shelves of the store. The result was very eye catching looking in from the store windows. The box was saved and reused for Faceman’s appearance on Sounds On 29th. The show also features an INCITE member being amazed by Prof. Phelyx, the mentalist.
